Saw Blade Commission

I was commissioned to paint three saw blades. Now relics, these antique saw blades were once very useful tools on the old ranch. The owner wanted to pass them on as individual works of art to her three children.

For the first, I was to create a simple landscape of Devil's Tower, Wyoming's famous natural monument. For the second, the client requested Sundance Mountain to be in the background with the old family barn, two family collie dogs, and butterflies to symbolize her late daughter in-law.

The last saw blade was the trickiest. The client requested an image of the old stone family farm house, a field of daisies, and an old wagon. Between the architectural features of the house, the undulation of the daisies, and the positioning of the wagon--this one was a thinker! She turned out beautifully though.
