I was commissioned by Flydragon Design in Cheyenne to repaint this cool old sign. The building used to be a liquor store called The Fix n' Mix. The owner/artist of Flydragon wanted to keep the ghost lettering of the original business. A new specially cut metal sign is intended to be affixed on top of the ghost lettering. The refreshed look will only incorporate the words "Drive In" from the old sign.
This commission was definitely challenging due to the time constraints, the elements, and logistics. In addition to working in gusty winds, sweltering sun, and breathing enamel fumes from dawn till dusk, I had to teach myself how to operate a scissor lift! Lots of curious folks shared their words of encouragement and approval. It feels good to put a little beauty back into the world.
